This is an interesting video showing the NASA-awarded 'marsha', a 3D-printed vertical martian habitat. While it looks weird, the science behind it appears to be sound and reasonable.

Nixie Tube Story

This is an incredibly interesting article and video about the history of the "Nixie" tube, which is the forerunner to the LCD display. I remember seeing these things in all sorts of devices when I was a lot younger. The video which is towards the end of the article shows the process to hand make a new Nixie tube.

Here is a wind farm near Jamesburg, IL taken from 29,500 feet GPS altitude. It was FL280 on our altimeter. These things have to be huge to show up so big from nearly six miles up.
